Vintage 2025 is looking very promising. Healthy, ripe, aromatic grapes, with longer hang time benefiting from diurnal temperature swings. We are excited – the aromas and initial tastings in the winery have been a real treat!<\/p>

It may be surprising that the we have had less rain in total than in 2024 but importantly it rained often and regularly throughout and especially during the key growing seasons of May and July. A glance at the table and graph illustrate this quite clearly. The impact on the vines is significant, they can ‘just be’, focusing their energy on growing and ripening at a steady rate, rather than sudden dramatic bursts when the weather allows.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Vintage 2025 \u2013 quality with character<\/strong><\/h4>

The 2025 vintage promises to be of very high quality: aromatic, ripe grapes with more acidity and lower alcohol than last year. The yield varies by variety, but overall we expect a small increase on 2024 (which was low) as we suffered hail damage earlier this summer. <\/p>

Wira W\u00e5xt 2025<\/h5>

Last Sunday we picked Wira W\u00e5xt on the Nussberg in Vienna, under the careful guidance of Jost who will be 87 this weekend! This is his 6th vintage and it was wonderful to have nearly 30 family and friends join in. Many hands really do make lighter work, picking was finished by lunchtime so for once we were all able to enjoy the sunshine, the picnic and the views over the city, a real treat! <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
