Zweigelt is the most widely planted red variety in Austria. It was created by Dr Zweigelt in 1922 by crossing Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent (two other typical Austrian varieties) grapes. Zweigelt is a great every day red. Lighter bodied, juicy with a peppery finish.

Nose: Red berries with a touch of vanilla
Palate: Long elegant finish with toasty aromatic notes
Food pairing: A great every day red. Simply fantastic with barbequed food but happy with pizza, pasta and a touch of spice!
